Behind this vase is an extraordinary personal story of the artist. It is the artist's first piece in the company of his partner, Claudia. When decorating it, Claudia was enraptured by the effect of the sawdust smoke. It is a vase that does not have a perfectly round mouth; this is because, at the turning stage, the artist wanted to flatten it at the edges, giving it this particular shape. In decoration, the Crackle was formed on one side only, leaving the other part of the vase more hollow.
